	Centre of Excellence for Simulation Education and Innovation (CESEI) The Centre of Excellence for Simulation Education and Innovation (CESEI) at Vancouver Coastal Health is an internationally recognized multi-disciplinary academic centre committed to achieving excellence in medical education and research related to educational technology and patient safety. 	Nanaimo Regional General Hospital Human Factors Lab and Simulation Program The NRGH Human Factors Lab and Simulation Curriculum is used to teach technical resuscitation, communication and leadership skills to multiple learner groups. The Medical Lead and Director of the Human Factors Lab and Simulation Curriculum is Dr. Andrew McLaren, an Intensive Care Specialist at NRGH. Multiple funding sources have enabled initial hardware purchases, including The Hospital Foundation, Private Donation, UBC Family Practice Program, Zoll Medical, and BC Ambulance Service. Additional support for teaching has been provided by the Hospital Administration, UBC Technology Enabled Learning, UBC Family Practice Program, Canadian Armed Forces, BC Ambulance Service, and CESEI. 	Northern Clinical Simulation Centres Medical and nursing students and practitioners will benefit from unique and state-of-the-art learning environments at four Northern Health (NH) and two university facilities, thanks to a partnership with the University of British Columbia’s Northern Medical Program (NMP) and the School of Nursing at the University of Northern BC (UNBC). The $2.4 million investment in Northern Clinical Simulation Centres allows students and clinicians to work with patient simulators – interactive training mannequins – to hone their skills in different treatment scenarios. 	BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre BC Children’s Hospital and BC Women’s Hospital and Health Centre are implementing a major simulation facility that will include four simulation spaces and a lecture area. This collaboration is made possible through capital support from the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and BC Women’s Hospital Foundation, the sharing of space with UBC Faculty of Medicine, and operational funding from the Provincial Health Services Authority.
