Distributed Academic Rounds is a joint service offered through the UBC Continuing Professional Development (UBC CPD) office and MedIT to improve UBC clinical faculty and community physician access to academic rounds in BC.
There are three distinct components available to you as part of Distributed Academic Rounds:
- BC Rounds Calendar (required) – search through an online calendar containing upcoming Grand Rounds sessions across multiple departments and find ones that are of interest to you.
- VC Anywhere (strongly recommended) – join live Grand Rounds found in the BC Rounds Calendar from any internet-enabled location using your laptop/phone/tablet. Interact with the presenter and other participants via microphone, camera, and/or chat.
- Med Video on Demand (optional) – instantly view video recordings of past Grand Rounds sessions through departmental websites.
Application Process
This service is available to Faculty of Medicine departments for Grand Rounds that are currently videoconference-enabled. Applicants with other education or research requirements will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
