Videoconferencing FAQ

Session Booking

Sessions start and end at the exact times specified in your room confirmation form. For example, a meeting booked from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. will start exactly at 10:00 a.m.; display a warning at ten minutes, five minutes and two minutes before the session’s end; and disconnect promptly at 10:30 a.m.

All videoconference rooms must be booked via the room booking form in advance of the session. Videoconference sessions cannot be set up in an ad hoc manner.

Presentations

  1. Press the "Presentation” button on the remote control.
  2. Resend your presentation by assigning a source to the presentation screen.

All our rooms are equipped with a VGA cable. If your device does not use a VGA cable, you are responsible for bringing the appropriate connector for your device.

  1. Check that your laptop or the lectern PC is unmuted.
  2. If streaming from a website, check that the video is unmuted on the site’s player.
  3. In Crestron controlled rooms, check that “Playback” is unmuted.
  4. If connected via a VGA cable, make sure the audio cable is plugged in.

Video

If a videoconference is connected, the screens will be turned on and display the other sites. If the room is not connected to a videoconference, the displays will be off, or on but displaying a cloud screen saver.

Audio

  • Ensure “Videoconference Incoming Audio” is unmuted on the Crestron Panel.
  • Turn up your volume using the remote control.

Check to see if your microphone is muted. If your microphone is unmuted, contact the MedIT Service Desk at 1.877.266.0666 for assistance.

The speaker will be present in the largest square, and the square will have a green border highlighted when the person speaks.
