Med Video on Demand (MVoD)

Med Video on Demand (MVoD) provides a video hosting platform to stream video directly on UBC websites. The service is similar to other video hosting platforms (e.g. YouTube, Vimeo) except that the videos are hosted on a UBC server supported by MedIT. Hosting your video using MVoD is an easy way to ensure that you are treating personal information in a way that is compliant with the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act (FIPPA) as it applies to public bodies like UBC.

After the website administrator receives an email notification from MedIT and embeds the unique URL to the website, users can click on the hyperlink and the embedded video will open in a new tab. The video can be paused/played, navigated through, volume adjusted, and expanded to full screen.

Please note that video links will expire after the current academic year plus one year.

The MVoD service is available to the Faculty of Medicine and other University-based health and science groups.
