Training

The audiovisual (AV) and videoconference (VC) user training program is a standardized training program designed to provide administrative staff and managers with the knowledge and practical experience to self-support their AV and VC sessions. Training can be customized to meet users’ specific training needs. Once trained, you will be able to operate AV and VC rooms at all UBC Faculty of Medicine rooms in all regions.
Training is offered in two modes by qualified MedIT technicians:

  1. AV training is approximately thirty minutes and designed to provide you with an overview of equipment use for non-videoconference sessions.
  2.  VC training is approximately one hour and designed to provide you with an overview of equipment use for videoconference sessions. The VC Training PowerPoint presentation is also available for your reference.

All administrative support staff and managers responsible for self-supporting their sessions are required to complete training regardless of previous experience or training outside of the Faculty of Medicine.
You can register for training when you submit your room booking request by selecting the training checkbox, or later, by contacting the UBC Faculty of Medicine Room Booking team.

Quick Guides

Quick guides are available in all MedIT Service Desk supported rooms to provide comprehensive guidelines on the use of equipment. The age and size of the room dictates the technologies you will find in them. The quick guides are intended to help you navigate these systems.
