1. Does the VC Anywhere integrate with the Faculty of Medicine videoconferencing rooms?

Yes, the VC Anywhere technology seamlessly integrates with physical videoconferencing rooms across the province. VC Anywhere will appear as a ‘square’ on the videoconference screen, with the current speaker on VC Anywhere appearing on camera. If there are no WebEx participants sharing their video, a silhouette of a user will take their place.

2. Where do I get the link to my VC Anywhere session?

The link will be provided to you by the Faculty of Medicine room booking team. You will need to share this link with whoever is planning to join your event, along with links to the quickguides and etiquette.

3. Why is the VC Anywhere session scheduled for the wrong date/time of the session I’m trying to join?

In order to ensure the least amount of impact to our business processes for scheduling VC sessions, we are using generic recurring VC Anywhere sessions for all WebEx enabled events. Please ignore the date/time on the VC Anywhere sessions front page.

4. Do you need a moderator in order to have a VC Anywhere session?

A moderator is strongly encouraged for events with more than 8 VC Anywhere participants. The moderator is able to mute/unmute users and pass along questions from the text chat to the event presenter (if applicable).

5. As the moderator, where do I find the host key?

The host key is found in the sessions title (e.g. WebEx 1 (Host: 677843)).

6.  How do I setup my computer audio?

Upon joining a VC Anywhere session, you will prompted to select how you’d like to connect to the audio conference. Select Computer Audio and test your computer audio to ensure you are using the proper device. This test can always be run again from the Audio menu at the top of the VC Anywhere window.

7. How do I interact with the presenter via VC Anywhere?

You can interact with the presenter by either unmuting your microphone to ask a question or using the chat window to send your question to the moderator.

8. What happens when the video feed of the presenter disappears?

This is caused by your connection having bandwidth that is too low to receive the video. If you’re using WiFi, move to a location with a stronger signal or use a wired connection. Please also close any background applications that may be using any bandwidth.

9. How do I obtain user attendance information for my event?

The VC Anywhere moderator for the event will have the ability to see and track all VC Anywhere participants. The moderator of the event would need to keep a record if VC Anywhere attendance for each event is to be tracked.
